Revisit old hobbies and finish up on old pending hobby projects. With isolation do more activities with kids and be creative as well as messy
Taking a lot of walks outside for some fresh air!
Pray for nice weather so we can get outside. Agree with Shauntae, fresh air is great!
The key is to stay in constant contact with those “really” close contacts… probably about 1% of everyone that I do know.
It’s all about perspective. As seen on @judy.correia’s desktop background, “you’re not stuck home, you’re safe home”. I like that Chris spoke about having a sense of purpose during the pandemic and remembering that the goal is to not overwhelm our health systems. This is the perfect example to show that 1 single person is all it takes to make a difference.
I’m using this time to spend more time with my family, which I haven’t been able to do a lot before with a busy lifestyle. I am constantly facetiming my friends, whether it’s to watch a movie, or even virtually work together so it’s like we are in the same room! As well, being in quarantine has forced me to escape from excuses like, “I need a gym to work out” - there are many exercise alternatives that can be done at home and staying at home has really pushed me to not make those excuses!
We are not stuck at home. We are using this time to work on some projects together that might have not been started until next year. It is important to keep in touch with friends and family, whether it be a phone call or video call. I know my parents are appreciating the video calls we are having as a family. We have noticed that because the weather is nicer, we are not spending time in front of the tv, but spending time outdoors in our garden, or relaxing listening to music. I am hoping that everyone will learn something from this experience. It is not the material things in life that matter!
Wish I had listened to this 3 months ago as we embarqued on this adventure. I like the concept of not emerging looking like a polar bear…ha! It still holds true that no matter how bad off I think I am, there is always someone somewhere who has it worse.
Great advice, getting adjusted with Covid 19 situation as a new normal now.
This was a really unique and intriguing perspective!
Great advice from Chris
I use the extra time to sharpen my knowledge of history. I also walked a lot to keep fit.
I have been using weekly planners to try and create shape and purpose to my days. Lockdown in the UK whilst still having 2 young children, sometimes home schooling, sometimes doing the school run and working from home full time has been quite the juggling act, so building a new routine and keeping some physical activity as part of our day, even if it is just that walk around the block, has been key for us
I think how Chris mentioned breaking your day down into increments, it makes it feel less overwhelming, and gives you a set time to devote to whatever may need done at that time without feeling overwhelmed and like everything needs done at once. I’ve been spending as much time as possible outside as the weather allows. I’ve also ordered a few books and have been reading as I can. Hallmark Christmas movies are on this time of year, always a great way to spend an evening!
I have shared this one with family and friends. Thanks!
I also recently read Atomic Habits and think that creating routines is a great way to cope.
Love getting outside during the warmer months, especially playing soccer with my daughter (I’m the team coach too). Much harder now with winter in full swing, cannot get outside as much, but trying to keep positive and keep my mind and body active too.
Jackbox and Zoom Calls!
I have really enjoyed spending more time with my family. Also, very grateful for Netflix!!
