In most cases, versions can be re-used on a year-by-year basis. This is commonly achieved through regulating the start and end period of a version. This prevents users from entering data in time periods outside of the time range dictated by the start and end date. To specify a start and end date:
Open Model Manager
Select the needed cube and open up the versions dimension
Select the needed version
From here click on the button for start and end as below
You can then select the needed start and end date through the following screen
After repeating setting your start and end date, make sure you save your changes in Model Manager and publish your changes once ready
