Row Notes are commonly used in Template Studio reports. Users may enter text comments in the Row Notes via Data Entry mode (mostly during the budget cycle) or read the final Row Notes added to the report.
Assuming the next year’s budget cycle uses the same budget template the main layout will remain unchanged. When you roll over the budget template to the next year, the Row Notes column will still show last year’s comments. However, you do not want old comments in the new budget year’s template, so you will need to change the Row Notes to point to the new budget year.

Row Notes comments can be reset by updating the Row Notes properties in Template Studio, as follows:
- Open the template in Design mode and expand the Data View section on the
left side section - Under the Cells section on the left side window locate the Row Note object
- Click on the Row Note object and:

a. Click the Properties icon on the lip menu, or
b. Press right-click on the row note object and choose “Properties” - The Row Notes properties screen will pop up. Locate the Time dimension
member selector, and change the value from the last year (2021) to the new
budget year (2022) - Save changes and press OK.
