I am trying to make a custom time perspective similar to YTD, however I would like to have it be our “Commision Calendar Year” [ Feb01 202x- Jan 31 202x(+1) ] and I do not have much knowledge on MDX formulas.
Is there anyone that can give me a hint without having to be a master in MDX?
We have used the standard ‘rolling last n periods’ to set up different time perspectives and then set up the reports to finish with the last month of the financial year which would give you your custom time time perspective for any calendar year.
We use the standard rolling periods and then we also set up certain time perspectives. I like the idea that we can post questions on here and get help from our peers.
Great suggestions here. You could also setup an alternate time dimension and create a YTD time perspective based on that. But I think the formulas provided here might get you what you need without doing that.
Have you thought about creating a named set under time to reflect the time period for the commissioned calendar year? Something like CY- sales commissions and forecasted sales commissions.
@barron.smith, were you able to get an answer for your question (from here or via CSP)? If not, I am happy to put something here that could be helpful.
