Dynamic Dates in Reporting

I have found that I’m unable to make my report dates dynamic when a report uses the Time Dimension in a Column. You seem to only be able to use the Time Dimension as a dynamic Page Member if it is in the Pages.

Any suggestions for making dates dynamic if your time dimension is positioned in the Column?

Hi Scott. I do the following:

Make a Named Set….say, “Current Reporting Month”. Then for type make it a “single member”. Once you do that, you can use it as a dynamic member for unique combinations and whatnot in columns. This will only work if there is in fact just a single member.

I have a Named set for each month of my fiscal year, example “Actual M01”, one for prior year “PY M01” and so on.

I find this so useful!
