May 2023 Product Adoption Tip: Assigning Multiple Dashboards to a User or Group

Are you looking for a way to allow your C-suite to view multiple dashboards across the organization as well as their own customized dashboard?

You are now able to assign a user or group up to 5 different dashboards. Each of these dashboards will appear in the Dashboards tab as sub-tabs.

  1. To do this, open Dashboard Studio and click Assign.
  2. Under either Group or Users, select who you would like to assign the dashboards to.
  3. Click on the + button on the top right and select the saved dashboards you would like to assign to this user. You can see that multiple saved dashboards can be added here. You can also set the order of that the dashboards will appear as sub-tabs by using the up and down arrows here.

How does Prophix decide which dashboard to assign when a user has more than one?

  1. A direct assignment (made in the User tab) supersedes any assignments made to the groups the user belongs to.
  2. Is the user has no direct assignment, then Prophix assigns the dashboard(s) of the group(s) the user belongs to.
  3. Is the user has no direct assignment and does not belong to any group, Prophix assigns the Welcome Dashboard – a built-in default dashboard

What if a user belongs to more than one group?

If a user has no direct dashboards assignment and belongs to more than one group, Prophix assigns dashboards as follows:

  1. Assigns all the dashboards from that user’s group that has the highest priority
  2. If this does not result in five dashboards, Prophix assigns dashboards from the user’s next highest group
  3. Prophix continues assigning from the user’s groups until 5 unique dashboards have been assigned or the user runs out of groups

I have set up groups for budget holders and then assign a number of dashboards to a user by using the groups.

This is a great way to allow our Execs to see the total bank but also see the regions. Excellent product add!
