October 2022 Product Adoption Tip: Declutter Report Mode

To make report mode look cluster free, it is good practice to disable run time for those dimensions with one resulting member or members that are not needed for end users. This can be accomplished by following the steps below:

a) Open a template in Design Mode. Expand the data view on the left. Under pages, right-click on any dimension that has one resulting member or a dimension you would like to hide in report mode and click Properties.

b) Once you click properties, you will be prompted with a “Page Dimension Properties: Dimension Name” dialog. Here you want to uncheck the visible at runtime option.

c) Once Visible at runtime has been disabled, preview the report, or open it in report mode. The dimensions that have been disabled at runtime will not be there.

Visible at run time makes it easier for end users to view dimensions they need to filter between.
