Templates - changing data source

Hi all,

I’ve recently had to re-create all our Cubes as a result of a change to our Fiscal Year. (Actually, it was a good exercise because I took the opportunity to make various improvements!).
We have several reports (Templates) which are based on data views from the ‘old’ cubes. Is there any way I can point these templates at new data vies (based on the ‘new’ cubes)? I’m trying to avoid having to rewrite all the templates? Alternatively, is there any way of copying formats from one template to another?

Hi Alan,

Data views are tied to a cube. Unfortunately, in your case, you will have to recreate the reports in the new cube.

You can though copy the formats between templates. Have both your reports - old and new - open, use the format panel to copy the format and paste it in the relevant section (row, column, cells). Hopefully that makes things a bit easier for you.
