Time-Phased Sales Orders

Does anyone forecast and track sales orders and time-phase them through production? i.e Week 1 has x orders (order date dimension) and they are distributed to the time periods they will likely be built, shipped, etc. (time-phase dimension).

My thought it to build a fake time dimenion for the time-phase but there surely is a better way. I need to be able to slice it by both time dimenions.

We don’t track sales orders, but curious how others use different time dimensions.

We don’t use this to track sales orders.

We do not use either.

We don’t use this for tracking sales orders; it appears to be new to us. However, we’d like to gather feedback from other users

Bumping, as I’m interested as well in this concept!

We currently track our Sales Orders in Excel but would be VERY interested in how your company utilizes Prophix to enhance this information.

We do not use the tracking order.

We do not track sales but following out of curiosity!

Tracking using building fake time would be the way to go!

I think your idea is a good one!

Sounds like an interesting way to handle it.

Sorry, we dont track sales.

We track sales via an in-house database.

We do make Revenue Analysis Cube which is Day based Time Dimension, however, I wonder if we can make two Time Dimensions in same cube as I have never tried, so One can be Period based for Accounting and another Day / Week based for Order Tracking.

Thank you for sharing.

Great discussion… seeing how this is being tracked.
