🍲 What're You Eating in Isolation?

Since I ususally pack my lunch for work, but I now can cook something at home, I’ve been getting in lots of grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches with some tomato soup

Sourdough Crust pizza, local goat cheese.
Fresh local farmed sausage, local spinach and home made tomato sauce.

AMAZING.

I’ve made pita and tortillas from scratch a few times now; they’re very good and less work than I expected. Last night I made stuffed peppers, which were well received. This no work overnight bread is probably the best thing I’ve made in weeks though.

I’ve been using the smoker more since I’m working from home. Smoking ribs, chicken, and brisket are my speciality!

I have tried to be good but our neighborhood has had several food trucks come to our neighborhood during quarantine since most of the businesses have been shut down with everyone working from home.

The three pictures are Fusion Nachos (outstanding) from Miami Fusion Food truck and the menu and Food Truck from Milo’s Hamburgers (the restaurant that Milo’s Tea started in).

Definitely grilling whenever possible. Working on setting up a picnic this weekend to enjoy the outdoors.

That looks amazing! I can’t wait for the weather to get better in Canada. I might need to start grilling like @shauntae.eiswerth and @kyle.reinarts once it stops snowing/raining in Toronto.

My mum passed on the recipe for an Arab dish called Daubh (?sp?). It was my favourite dish as a child, and now my 8yo says it is his favourite.

It’s a low and slow cook so it’s a real perk to being at home where it can simmer on the stove all day. I’m sure once I’m back to work I’ll find a way to make it a little quicker (or the night before)!

We have been grilling at least 4 times a week. I am also eating all the chocolate in the house.

We’ve been starting to have some almost-summer-ish weather over here, and I wanted to try roasting marshmallows with my almost-5-year old son.
We were of course hoping for this:

But naturally ended up with this:

So we have progressed from baking to making jam and marmalade! This is rhubarb and orange which was pretty tasty and now we have 5 jars of it in the fridge!

We have also eaten some BBQ which a local company delivers after it has been slow cooked and smoked for 12 hours, It comes ready to re-heat and add sides to. This inspired us to try slow cooking beef ribs which we super tasty!

We have also discovered an Asian supermarket in our home town which sells everything to make Pad Thai that is almost as good as the ones we had in Thailand back in November! Happy memories!!!

The last picture is of homemade slow roasted BBQ pulled pork tacos (well sort of tacos! Couldn’t get proper cornflour for them so were closer to flatbread wraps). I even made the guacamole
