Work In Progress Report

We don’t use WIP reports but I enjoy seeing how others are utilizing the data.

We don’t use WIP reports, but some of the responses have helped me with ideas for future projects!

not necessarily a WIP report as such, but we have a report for projects under construction which may do something similar to what you are after.

Thanks for sharing this, @albert.kurtz!

We don’t do WIP reporting, but this has been an interesting thread to follow to learn about different setup options and reporting options are being used in Prophix by other organizations.

We do not use a WIP. We have not heard about it.

A Work in Progress Report is a Construction Industry specific report.

I have not but with new construction coming up I would be very interested in learning more

How do you have that many data views without your report breaking? I’m impressed

We currently do not have WIP reports. I plan to develop a DPM cube to track WIP through completion and placed in service. We would like to compare actual to budget purchase authorizations and borrowings.

We have ideas on establishing WIP reports for our operations group, but they are still working through their own requirements…

We do not need these reports as we are not a manufacturing concern.

I am curious to learn about the best practices for WIP repotting in Prophix. As I’m new to Prophix, is there a space here where people are sharing their actual templates and best practices for different Prophix forecasting and reporting? Thanks!

Does that come from an accounting system? Are you maintaining your budget in Prophix?

I do not use this in my role, but was nice to see the comments / input everyone provided.

Are you forecasting the WIP activity too? It appears as though you might only be using the actuals version. What ERP system is the data coming from??

We have multiple ERP sources, with different levels of data capabilities. We are able to leverage Prophix to use formulas in the account dimension to populate YTD, MTD and month change in the JTD contract amounts and estimate to completes.

I see many people talking about checking the “Unique Combinations” option when doing reports. I’m pretty new to Prophix and not sure what that is and what its function is. Can anyone help with that? I know I can look it up in Help and I will, but hearing real-world uses of the function would also be helpful. Thank you for any input you can provide.

We do not use WIP. I do enjoy reading how everyone is utilizing Prophix.
